An innocent San Francisco florist has had her life 'turned upside down' after cops exposed the secret criminal history of her longtime boyfriend she knew as 'Randy.'

Officials have told DailyMail.com the unidentified woman was 'shocked' by the revelation that her boyfriend, who had been living in her $4.3 million California mansion for the last 15 years, was actually a runaway rapist from Massachusetts.

Former restaurant manager Tuen Kit Lee, 55, gained notoriety as the 'bad breath rapist' after he was convicted in September 2007 of breaking into a colleague's home and sexually assaulting her at knifepoint on February 2, 2005.

He reportedly wore a mask over his face during the attack - but the victim recognized the smell of his breath from working at the Quincy, Massachusetts, restaurant together on the outskirts of Boston. DNA testing later confirmed this.

Lee allegedly fled his trial before jurors returned the conviction. Now, the US Marshals Service has revealed to DailyMail.com that he's been living a life of luxury in California with an oblivious girlfriend who knew him as 'Randy.'.

Senior Inspector Chris Tamayo said the couple have been living in a $4.3 million mansion in the small town of Diablo, which sits around 20 miles east of the Bay Area.

State police from Massachusetts and California traced Lee to the home this year and waited outside for him to emerge. They spotted him leaving with his girlfriend before getting into a car at 6:30 am Tuesday.

Cops pulled the vehicle over on Diablo Road before detaining Lee, who initially insisted that his name was Randy. He later admitted who he was under pressure from officers, and fingerprints confirmed his real identity.

His girlfriend was aghast when officers broke the news to her about who 'Randy' really was, Tamayo said.

‘She had absolutely no idea,' he told DailyMail.com. 'The woman he was with had absolutely no clue who he was.

‘Her life got completely turned upside down. I definitely have sympathy for her situation. She couldn’t believe it.’

Tuen Kit Lee (pictured in his 2005 mugshot) broke into a co-worker's home and raped her on February 2, 2005. He fled his trial before jurors returned the conviction, and he has been living a life of luxury in the Golden State ever since with an oblivious florist girlfriend

Tamayo said the woman owns a flower shop in San Francisco, which is around a 35 minute drive from their lavish pad, and that Lee had been working in the shop with her.

He said Lee had 'given up everything from his past life' to go on the run and 'created a new identity' to conceal his horrendous criminal history.

Tamayo added that his victim, who has been waiting for closure on the case for almost 20 years, felt 'a sense of relief' when cops told her he had finally been detained.

Photographs posted on social media show Lee being handcuffed beside a police van while surrounded by several officials.

Lee had been on the run for so long that the case went cold, but Tamayo said he was finally traced after an 'amazing' Massachusetts State Police officer re-launched the investigation around two years ago.

‘He found one picture on social media that tied him (Lee) to Californiathat we were able to start running with and eventually identify him,' Tamayo said.

Lee was transported to Danville PD for booking on Tuesday, where he will be held pending his rendition to Massachusetts.

'There are violent offenders out there who believe they can commit crimes and not be held accountable for their actions,' Chief Inspector Sean LoPiccolo, acting Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force commander, said in a statement.

'Tuen Lee was on the run for more than 16 years and the unwavering dedication by law enforcement to locate and arrest him hopefully brings peace of mind to the victim and her family.'
